Porch Muddy blues to blistering Hendrix/Clapton style electric guitar workouts are the trademark of Harlem-based guitarist, composer and singer Michael Powers. Michael was taught his first bar chord by Jimmy Reed. During his high school summers, he toured as part of James Cotton's Band.
Michael's two solo Blues CD's received five Blues Music Award Nominations. When not touring global festivals, Michael's trio, "FREQUENCY," holds a residency at Terra Blues, NYC's leading Blues club.
Powers is hailed by Billboard as "The Future of the Blues."
